This delicate oil-based cleanser is our ultimate product for keeping the skin lovely for life. Thoroughly effective but incredibly gentle, it’s the ideal cleanser for sensitive skin, though all complexions (even shiny ones) will benefit from its care. Based on the versatile, much-loved cold cream invented by Greek physician Galen almost two thousand years ago, this iconic skincare recipe was barely changed until the 20th century, when cosmetics companies filled it with lanolin and mineral oils to make it easier to manufacture.

When we got our mitts on it, we drew inspiration from Galen’s recipe, formulating a benign blend of beeswax, almond oil and rose water to melt away shine, grime and the toughest of makeup without irritation. Ideal for keeping the skin soft, cleansed and supple for life, today, it’s got over 1,000 5-star reviews.

How to use: Massage gently into the skin, and over the eyelids. Remove with warm water and a clean flannel or cotton wool for clear, calm skin.
